The Bible app by YouVersion has been named the official companion app of The Bible series from Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, premiering March 3 on the History Channel.

“We are thrilled to provide millions of people with an easy way to do so with YouVersion.”

“We’re honored to be working with Roma and Mark in drawing attention to this brilliant and engaging series. It’s the greatest visualization of the Bible we’ve ever seen, and I believe it will help millions of people engage with the Bible,” said Pastor Bobby Gruenewald, the app’s creator, at LifeChurch.tv in Edmond, Oklahoma. Soon, the YouVersion community will have the opportunity to access video content from the series directly in the app.

The Bible App offers over 400 versions of the Bible in over 200 languages. Users can access tools like bookmarks, notes, highlights, hundreds of reading plans, and more. Everything you add is automatically synced across any device you use. Content can also be accessed via the Web at bible.com.

The Bible is an epic 10-hour/five-part docudrama. The series promises to be a landmark television event, combining one of the greatest collections of stories ever assembled with live action and state-of-the-art CGI.

“We have many series currently on TV, but this is the most important,” said Burnett, one the most successful producers in television history, whose current shows include “Survivor,” “The Voice,” “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “Shark Tank.” “Over the next decade, more people will view our Bible series than all of our other TV series combined.”
