Rising Theologian: Contest to find the UK’s next top theologian

The London School of Theology is trying to get people in the United Kingdom talking about theology via its Rising Theologian contest.

The contest is open to UK residents over 18-years-old and up, could net an up-and-coming theologian a full-ride scholarship to LST.

rising theologian Rising Theologian: Contest to find the UK’s next top theologianTo enter, participants have to write a short essay or a produce a short film clip about “the future of the Christian church in the UK.”

Dr. Krish Kandiah from The Evangelical Alliance said, “We’re excited that the Rising Theologian will help give someone the chance to study theology who may not otherwise have had the chance.”

“All of us are theologians, the only question is whether we are good ones or not. I believe our church needs to invest in facilitating more of us to formally study theology to help equip us all to grow to maturity in Christ and to make an impact for the gospel in our culture.

A selection of the best entries detailing the thoughts of people as to what the future of the Christian church will be will be published and made available online.

Entries can be submitted by e-mail rising@lst.ac.uk and must be received by April 30.

Shortlisted candidates will  have an opportunity to present their thoughts at LST  on June 29.

The winner of the contest will be able to start his degree in October.
