Sudan Blames Israel for blast at arms factory
There has been no comment from Israeli officials.
Witnesses told a VOA reporter they saw two planes fly over the facility shortly before the blasts late Tuesday.
“What they say is that the plane, the first plane, shed light on the area and then it was followed by the sound of a rocket and then an explosion,” said VOA reporter Ismail Kushkush.
Sudanese officials say there were no casualties. Kushkush reports that according to local residents, at least one person was killed by shrapnel that fell on his home.
Sudan has blamed Israel for previous airstrikes and explosions in the country. Israel has not commented on the accusations.
